Welcoming College

Happy Graduation Batch 2016! I'm sure all of you and your friends are talking about this. Trust

me, you will feel "sepanx" (separation anxiety) from your High School friends since you grew up

with them since kinder. Have you decided yet what course to take or what school you

would like to enroll at? Will you study abroad or just stay here? I hope these tips of mine will help

you decide to make the right choice/s. I can't tell you what is the best school out there since all of

it I believe has their own specialty to offer. Here are my top tips for you.

1. Research about the course.

- Before choosing the course, be sure to understand it well and know more about it so that you will

have no regrets when that time comes. It will take you a long time to finish school if you don't like

your course and decides to shift.

2. Accessibility

- It is practical if you choose the school that is very accessible to you. There will be days where

you will be having a night class or a late group project and it is not safe to commute.

(unless you have a car or a dorm nearby) It will also save you a lot of time to prepare for the next

day and to relax at home with your remaining time.

3. Be yourself

-  You don't have to do or try so hard for them to notice or to like you. Remember, they will

like you for who you are not and someone you are trying to pretend to. Show them your true self and

be confident.

4. Wardrobe Crisis

- Okay ladies, admit it! (I'm guilty!) We don't want to repeat clothes because we want to impress

them with our looks. But, as much as we avoid to repeat our outfits, you can't help

it! there are so much things to be taken care of and promise, your friends well some, might not even

notice it. And if they does, just smile and crank up a joke. It won't be a big deal anymore.

5. SAVE SAVE SAVE!

You might get surprise of how many food establishments/karinderia/pica pica around your school

and during your free time, all you can do is to chill and eat. You wouldn't even notice that you spent

your allowance already before the week ends. My saving tips? let's say my allowance

per week is 1000 pesos. I will just bring 500 pesos and try to save it the entire week (food/tanspo)

and the other 500 will be in my piggy bank. That way, I can keep track on my spending habit.

6. Make the most out of your college years

- Join some extracurricular activities. That is the fun part in college! you get to explore, to learn and

to be expose in different communities. Don't forget to HAVE FUN!

7. Don't be afraid to make new friends!

-Of course at first it'll be awkward to talk to strangers but you have to try to mingle with them.

There is a saying that " No man is an island" you can't survive being alone and you

shouldn't be isolated with other people. No matter how hard you try to do things alone, you will

always need an extra helping hand. It's fun to meet new people. You get to learn from their

experiences and also become more mature.

I hope this post would be a big help to survive your 1st week in college! :)

  1. This is a good and helpful post for the new uni students, I wish there's one like this back in my days :) I like your sleeveless top, the print and the fabric. The park is long and manicured, you're lucky to find it for the post :)
